snorkackcatcher: (Happy Birthday)

Lyrics: Ah yes -- the last one was the unconventional but extremely catchy Birdhouse In Your Soul by They Might Be Giants from 1990 -- identified by [livejournal.com profile] virginia_bell, [livejournal.com profile] lupinslittlesis, and [livejournal.com profile] lareinenoire. Something rather more conventional, but still catchy:

I walk these streets, a loaded six string on my back
I play for keeps, 'cause I might not make it back
I been everywhere, still I'm standing tall
I seen a million faces an' I've rocked them all
I'm a cowboy, on a steel horse I ride ...
(1980s)

"Wanted: Dead or Alive" by Bon Jovi if memory serves, though I'm not sure I got the song title correct.

Thank you for birthday wishes - and I got the lyric! It was the 'steel horse' bit I remembered - always thought that was a bit bizarre but now I read the rest of the verse it makes a little more sense :D

I missed your last post, but I would've known Birdhouse in your Soul, I used to know ALL the words to that one, and to most of the rest of the album. "They've all got prosthetic foreheads on their real heads" was a particular gem if memory serves ...
