Stump the Writer!

A -- go to the list of my fics (see my header post or fic journal) and pick out a line or three from one of my stories. (Must be a full line, please -- no sentence fragments or speech tags or other such nonsense.)
B -- I will respond with which story of mine I think it's from.
C -- A fic snip to anyone who stumps me.

Since my thoughts when someone posted the start of Introduction to The Invisible Book of Invisibility on a first lines thread were roughly "Hang on, that sounds familiar for some reason. Oh yeah, I wrote it. That'll be it then" ... this might not be too difficult. :)

Heh. That's the Phineas Nigellus drabble from Twenty Sibling Drabbles. I remember that well because I was being sneaky and trying to make people think of the wrong Sirius. :)

Ah. That would be the end of Battles with Basilisks, with Hermione sounding off about Lockhart's new book. I remember wondering whether to use a word like 'elides', but reckoned it might be the sort of thing Hermione would say. :)

Very Hermione-like, yes! I picked that fic because I don't think I ever did say how impressed I was by it - such clever use of canon and character and humour.

I was more upset that you offed George than Tonks, to be honest! I really liked it. I've left you a proper review over at your fic journal - I was only about half way through when I picked the line.
