Turning the Corner by Grace has Victory -- chaptered, Michael Corner's POV on the fortnight leading up to the Yule Ball in GoF.

Lyrics: The last one was the Northern Soul classic Backfield In Motion by Mel and Tim from 1969. I believe it was a US hit (just not a chart hit over here -- which tends to be the case with Northern Soul classics!). [livejournal.com profile] ladybracknell knew it, of course. :) A bit more recent, this one:

Little Catholic girl is falling in love
A face on a page, a gift from above
She should've known better than to give her heart
She should've known better than to ever part
Without me, without me
(1980s)

I know this one! Joan of Arc by Orchestral Manouevres in the Dark - I'm sure I've spelt that wrong.
from the album Architecture and Morality in, I believe, 1981.
