Yes, the epilogue, Between Midnight And Day, has finally been posted here at FA and here at CoS!
After more than two years and about 280,000 words, it's actually finished.

Huge, huge thanks to everyone who has reviewed the fic or indeed simply read it -- I know it's been an up-and-down sort of thing with long gaps between chapters sometimes, and two years on one story is a bit excessive! (I'll probably do a 'DVD commentary' and confess all -- or at least most -- at some point. :D) Special thanks as always to
a_t_rain aka Lady deMimsy, for both her encouragement to start writing the story in the first place, and for her own stories which first made me realise that this fanfic stuff could actually be good as well as fun, and worth having a go at.

Date: 2006-11-23 12:38 pm (UTC)While I will be begging you for sequels from now on, I still admire everyone who is able to carry such a big project through and sum everything up in the end. Most of my really long fics are abandoned at some point...
Is that old lady with the strays been mentioned somewhere by JK Rowling...in an interview or something? There is a vague feeling I've heard that somewhere before. If it is not, then I have probably dreamed it...
Anyway, I liked the epilogue as well as every other chapter.

Date: 2006-11-23 09:50 pm (UTC)Hunting down brightly coloured tropical birds - or at any rate, appearing to do so - takes Nymphadora Tonks to the Caribbean in her search for Siris Black, multiple murderer and the Dark Lord's right hand man. Here she rediscovers an old friendship - and makes a new enemy.
YOu can start now :)

Date: 2006-11-24 11:13 pm (UTC)I will have to read it all from the beginning again, now, to pick up on all the things I missed...
Well done!
Date: 2006-11-27 01:18 am (UTC)Your in the perfect position to, dare I suggest, write a sequal. Oh, you already teased us so I’ll just say YOU MUST. You left just the right amount of unanswered questions for it. Also, I think that there are some scenes I’d love to see through your perspective.
Any way. Well done and congrats! And, of course, sequel, sequel, sequel (just a suggestion).

Date: 2006-11-27 09:43 pm (UTC)I'll have to re-read myself if I'm going to revise it (replace Claymore with Rufus Scrimgeour etc) so if you spot anything that sounds odd or off let me know!
Re: Well done!
Date: 2006-11-27 09:55 pm (UTC)You're the first person to comment on the parallels between the prologue and epilogue (probably because you re-read the prologue more recently) -- I probably went a bit overboard with that, but I suppose copying lines from the prologue at least reduced the amount of writing I had to do. :)
I've roughed out a few ideas for a sequel, but it's a long project, so won't happen yet awhile (one big mistake with NTLJ was posting while I only had a few chapters in hand and expanding as I went).

Date: 2006-11-29 04:09 am (UTC)I totally support your decision to plan out your next Tonks story. I do hope you get a chance to write it. I don't know if it's just me getting pulled into real world, but I feel like there is less and less quality fanfic out there. I enjoyed NTLJ (especially as a whole) and will continue to gently prod for more. :)

And I'm going to add to the pleas for a sequel, pretty please.
And if you decide not to, I wouldn't turn my nose up at one shots. :)
