After an amazingly rapid turnaround Chapter 40 of NTLJ, Stalking the Game, is up at FictionAlley. In which Cassius loses his rag, and the Aurors go to make an arrest with unexpected consequences.

Lyrics: Saturday's song was The Smiths' Bigmouth Strikes Again from 1985, as spotted by parthenia14 and dogstar101. So hastily pulling another song from the ones I used for the pub quiz last night:

Hey, there, snorkackcatcher, I haven't replied to any of these because I have a shameful addiction to classical music and no knowledge of pop culture at all, but I'm really enjoying these lyrics. This one made me laugh. Maggie

No idea, but I'm amazed and pleased at the speed of FA on this occasion.

But why does it eat apostrophes in the author's notes?

The funny thing about this song is that I can sit here and sing the lyrics and hear the song in my head, but dredging up a name and band is just not happening.

Glad the FA submission seems to be going well.

It seems I inadvertently left "smart quotes" in the summary way back when I first posted -- which only show correctly if the browser is using the right character set. I'll have to fix that.

(I've given up on adding author's notes in the 'proper' place instead of at the end of the chapter for the moment -- too often the bug means they vanish into thin air, and another bug means that if you edit a chapter the story doesn't appear in the Chapter Owls etc, so resubmitting doesn't help.)
