Notice seen outside a big store complex yesterday:

Reduced to clear. Weather damaged sheds.

Looks like Del Boy's rain-damaged umbrellas have company. :)

I have to say, as a consumer, that doesn't fill me with confidence. That would be a bargain for people with no common sense...;)

maybe they were wood sheds and they looked weathered. *hopes this is the case for the good of her brain and humanity*

That actually ranks right up there for me like the use of apostrophes in plurals, turning them into possesives in public signage, and it happens so often. Think of grammar before you pay $300 for that 5 foot long neon sign people!

Have you read "Eats, Shoots, and Leaves"? It is brilliant, definately a must-read for those among us who love the noble and brave comma.

Yeah, I thought of that book when I read your comment.

(The fight for me is an even worse one, as in German you do not even use that apostrophe for the possessive "s" ending - or rather you're not supposed to, but people are silly. And yes, sometimes for plurals as well. Makes me cringe every single time.)

Also, on the use of commas: http://community.livejournal.com/linguaphiles/2676736.html
