From 101cd.com, a cut-price CD site, a couple of recent offers via email:

"Take A Look At This Album Was £8.99 Now Just £4.95 Delivered For A Limited Time Only - First Come First Served! ... Bay City Rollers Absolute Rollers"

As advertising slogans go, they don't sound like big winners. :D

I am not sure I would be able to resist either offer, but then I am in a weird mood these days, wearing shiny new braces and flowery new wooden clogs and feeling like I am 14 again ...

XD I've always had a soft spot in my heart for those bargain CD sites. But I sometimes think the weird book clubs (i.e. Join us for ONLY $1 and get 80 books FREE!!!1!) take the cake better. The book collection usually seems all right at first, until you flip the page and dig deep and find that they mostly hold Harlequins and authors you've never ever heard of :D

Yes, I know ... I tend to skip over those. (101cd are actually a good place to get CDs at significantly less than the usual High Street rip-off prices, but they do send out a lot of special offers, some of which appear to be the result of rather odd data mining.)

Cool, eh? Perhaps I'll check them out when I'm in the UK this summer - I know a couple CDs I wouldn't mind having on the cheap ;)

I suspect I know a worrying number of people (at least three) who would appreciate the Peter Crouch thing. Oh, they'd make out that their amusement was ironic, but...
