NTLJ chapter 35 at Chamber of Secrets

Finally posted -- chapter 35, No-One Is Quite The Way They Seem. In which the Aurors execute the sting operation with the aim of catching the attempted murderer, although not everything works out entirely according to plan ... Features House-elf!Tonks, for reasons which hopefully will make sense when read. :)

The reasons behind House-elf!Tonks do make quite a bit of sense. *sits on edge of her seat* I don't know if it is canon or not, but I really like how you put limitations on Tonks' ability to metamorphose. It makes it so much more real, not as outrageous. Really well written, as usual :). Of course, now I patiently perch on the edge of my seat, waiting for the next bit. Patiently being the key word: I don't want you to feel rushed.

Thank you. Presumably there have to be some limits, or else she could turn herself into a giant and just stomp on the bad guys or something. :D

I'm making a start now (although finished chapters often seem to look significantly different from the rough notes!), and one flashback scene is already written, at least. :)

Makes sense for the House-Elf thing, and to echo eccentricpirate I also like the limits you put on Tonk's ability. My favorite thing in this chapter though is Kingsley's Foot in Mouth Syndrome. I like that she had to earn the trust and it's not complete yet. After all, I think there would be questions based on her family (however estranged) and her ability to be virtually anyone.

An exciting chapter. Echo the other posters about House-Elf!Tonks. It makes sense that her abilities must have some limitations. Also liked the humour you injected into the chapter using her House-Elf disguise.

And what a cliffhanger! You're not going to kill Cassius off, are you? (Looks worried). He's too good a character to come to a sticky end.
