A result, sort of ...
Dec. 5th, 2005 08:41 amMy turn on the rota to set the pub quiz again last night (tracklist below cut if of any interest) ... microphone almost completely not working, but fortunately I'd observed this happening the week before and set a quiz that was entirely based on a music tape. Sound quality still bloody awful, but that proved to be a good thing in the end because the landlord has FINALLY got embarrassed enough to get it replaced. So at least that was a result!
The gist of this was "one song that reached each position in the charts from 50 down to 1". And it being December and all, I ended each half with a Christmas song. As it turned out, the teams found the first half easier (because it was mostly older stuff that was quite well known despite not having charted highly, and that suited the demographic) -- most teams crashed and burned on the second half which included a reasonable proportion of stuff from the last decade.
