Not very much to list from last year -- lack of motivation no doubt. I guess that at the very least I should try to finish all the fics on my hard drive that have several thousand words already written!

Title: Sugar, Sugar (You Can Have My Private Number Remix) (PG-13, 7600 words)
Fandoms: Doctor Who, The Sarah Jane Adventures
Pairings: Harry Sullivan/Martha Jones, Harry Sullivan/Sarah Jane Smith

Summary: When you travel in time and space, there are people you meet who are out of their proper place, and other people you need to know haven't gone anywhere. Because who would believe you when you tell them about it, unless they know what it's like themselves? (Remix of Sugar, Sugar by [livejournal.com profile] livii.)

------------

Title: Vault 419 (PG-13, 11000 words)
Fandom: Harry Potter
Pairings: A bit of Ron/Hermione

Summary: Some business offers are just too good to be true. That's why Aurors Potter and Weasley are on the case. Although cases don't always go the way an Auror expects them to ...

------------

Title: Malcolm MacTavish, the Mad Muggle? (G, 1100 words)
Fandom: Harry Potter

Summary: The inside story on the Chudley Cannons latest signing!

------------

Title: Among My Souvenirs (PG-13, 2000 words)
Fandom: Harry Potter
Pairings: Andromeda/Ted, a bit of Teddy/Victoire

Summary: Andromeda preserves that which is precious to her in a manner that only a witch can.

------------

Title: Teamwork (PG-13, 2750 words)
Fandom: Psmith (P.G.Wodehouse)
Pairings: A bit of Psmith/Eve

Summary: Psmith is engaged to fight a breach of promise case, but sometimes even a man of his talents needs a bit of help.

The last one is the Yuletide fic -- it should have been rather longer and less tell-y rather than show-y, but various illnesses left me not in the mood to tackle the expansion process. Maybe I'll revise it at some point. However, I should definitely mention the astonishing fic written for me:

Title: The Trees of Sojea (6000 words)
Author: pearbean
Fandom: The Unorthodox Engineers (Colin Kapp)

Summary: The Unorthodox Engineering squad find themselves tasked with building a base on a planet with a vast ocean - so vast that it covers the entire planet's surface. As an added complication, the ocean is concentrated sulphuric acid. With no supplies and only limited funds, the U.E. squad must come up with a solution using Fritz Van Noon's inverted-sideways way of looking at a problem.

Yes, this is the fandom I threw in for the hell of it simply because last year's Sector General fic reminded me of the old SF short-story collection series both originally appeared in. The author actually tracked down the paperbacks second-hand, and wrote a fic that was very much in the style of the original UE stories. It may well be the only piece of UE fanfic ever written. :) Great fun.

Mm. Was sure I'd read Malcolm McTavish before but I think that I may have actually seen it in hard copy in July! Very enjoyable. This: Certainly the Shacklebolt Ministry has a long-standing policy of extending the hand of friendship to Muggles -- insofar as it can without breaking the Statute of Secrecy reminded me of this: Anyone who extends to him the right hand of friendship is in danger of losing a couple of fingers. (Alva Johnston, says Google. I never knew the source!) Made me smile.

Two questions - one re the Colin Kapp. Which 1960 SF series? Second, re-reading the Andromeda Pensieve story - did you ever come across the idea of Slowglass in SF? Bob Shaw, I think.

I thought it might be. I've got an almost complete collection of the first thirty or so paperbacks and what you said rang a bell. (I was an eager collector of secondhand paperback SF anthologies as a student - and cherish my SF bookcase though I never seem to get time to read these days!)

Should also add - Slowglass is a terrific invention. If I can dig out the reference I'll add it.
