Remix Redux Reveal Rec
May. 23rd, 2010 11:14 pmWe've now had the Remix Redux reveal, and so, breath unbated, I discovered with some modest degree of squeefulness that (a) my remixer this time had chosen a story that was crying out to be given this treatment, namely the HBP-base "Remus hunts Greyback" story The Wolf Covers Its Tracks, and (b) they had remixed it superbly well.
It basically shows how the same situation might go given the actual Book 7 canon events (i.e. in particular, and most obviously, Remus being killed in the Battle of Hogwarts). It keeps key elements with suitable twists but isn't worried about being its own tale, and all in all is pretty much exactly what you'd hope to see when someone remixes your story. (Given the title, I'm wondering if they read my DVD commentary on the fic. The remix picks up on an aspect that worried me about the original.)
The story is The Wolf Covers Its Tracks (All Us Human Extras Remix), and I'm looking forward to finding out who the author is!
I'll be interested to see if anyone spots my remix -- I don't think it's giving away anything that you wouldn't already have guessed if I say that the four fandoms I could offer to remix were HP, Doctor Who 1963 and 2005, and Torchwood. :)

Date: 2010-05-23 11:04 pm (UTC)I'm fascinated to read your DVD commentary now. I hadn't seen it before, and I'm trying to decide whether it would have made my job easier or harder. *g* The title came long after I'd decided to switch up the POV, by the way. I knew I wanted something from a Canadian band, and after searching way too long for good lyrics involving wolves or the moon, "Gift Shop" popped into mind, which just happens to have that well-fitting line.
Anyway, I'll stop blathering. I just wanted to thank you for providing such great source material to play with. I'm really glad I discovered your work.
