Now did you really think I'd resist this one? Gacked from all over the place:
Request any fic of mine and I will provide you with a commentary/annotations, like a DVD extra.
Full list on the good old ficjournal (except for one TW/DW fic at FFN).

I got my hands on a bunch of special offer mostly £3-ish cheap CDs from one of the internet sites today -- classic albums/handy compilations. Their 'if you liked that, you might also like ...' algorithm is probably going to blow a fuse -- the selection comprises Now 70, Cream, the Cranberries, Public Enemy, Nazareth, Primal Scream, Fairport Convention, Super Furry Animals, and the Bay City Rollers. *manic giggle* (Plz to be noting that the last one was purely because their hits don't seem to turn up on 70s compilations, and I thought it might come in useful if I ever start setting pub quizzes again. Even I have some standards.)

Lyrics: The last one was the 1964 Rolling Stones track Heart of Stone, which I'd thought was fairly obscure but was actually a US single. Anyway, I'm glad to see both [livejournal.com profile] a_t_rain and [livejournal.com profile] muggle_prof knew it, because it's an excellent track -- slow and bluesy with Mick Jagger in full-on attitude mode.

And one I was reminded of today because the 2006 dance track which samples it popped up on the radio:

You leave in the morning with everything you own in a little black case
Alone on a platform the wind and the rain on a sad and lonely face
Mother will never understand why you had to leave
But the answers you seek will never be found at home
The love that you need will never be found at home
(1980s)

Belated happy birthday, by the way!

My Best of Bay City Rollers is one of my favourite CDs. Along with bests of Racey, Smokie, Showadddywaddy (?spelling) and my latest acquisition - the threeCD Jackie magazine compilation.

...they say you can never be objective about the music of your childhood. They are probably right. I used to have a crush on David Cassidy...
