Niffler and darkfic writer of note, and one of those people I'm pleased I got to know despite our areas of interest in HP being largely different!

Lyrics: The last one was Joan of Arc by Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark in 1981, always easy to confuse with the later song Maid of Orleans if you're not careful, as that one actually starts with the word "Joan of Arc". :) [livejournal.com profile] dogstar101 wasn't confused though.

So for Hijja -- well, I had to pick one with a certain word in the title ...

On a morning from a Bogart movie
In a country where they turn back time
You go strolling through the crowd like Peter Lorre
Contemplating a crime

She comes out of the sun in a silk dress running
Like a watercolour in the rain
Don't bother asking for explanations
She'll just tell you that she came ...
(1970s)

How incredibly weird. I was going to post the first verse of that today myself. Just because it's a glorious spring day - the first really nice one of the year - and it was good to be alive.

(So of course we had a sprinkling of snow this afternoon...)

Anyway. Yeah. That. Miaow!

Oh, and I have a huge soft spot for OMD. Loved Joan of Arc (the song) when I was a kid, though I found Maid of Orleans a bit slow. I now have the greatest hits and I'm a huge fan of Tesla Girls.

(The OMD drummer lives about a mile from me. I think it's the drummer.)

Eeep! *blushes furiously and very strongly returns sentiments*

Thanks so much for the song with the somewhat seriously fitting title :). It's actually one of the few occasions I could put the title to the lyrics without trouble :). And a very old favourite too - *hugs*.

Ooooh, I love The Year Of The Cat! And I feel old now because I still remember it first coming out ...
