NTLJ chapter 42 at Chamber of Secrets
Oct. 31st, 2006 07:17 pmChapter 42, The Things We Do For Love, now posted at CoS Forums. The last actual chapter, although there will be a short epilogue in a few days time.
Lyrics: The song yesterday was Cell Block Tango from the musical Chicago, originally peformed in 1975, spotted by
octobersnow,
lareinenoire, and
jesspallas. So here's one that's rather appropriate for Halloween:
She had an horror of rooms she was tired you can't hide beat
When I looked in her eyes they were blue but nobody home
She could've been a killer if she didn't walk the way she do, and she do
She opened strange doors that we'd never close again
She began to wail jealousies scream
Waiting at the light know what I mean (1980s)

*gives standing ovation*
A few things I caught for editing (minor, as usual):
demonstrated such prowess at over the last previous week and a half 'last previous' is redundant.
"Pretty solid Auror work, young lady, he said eventually. Missing a close quote mark.

Date: 2006-11-01 01:03 am (UTC)The very first ideas had Angelica as a sort of 'Ma Baker' figure -- that got toned down quite considerably as things developed, to the point where at the end I had to bite the bullet and show her as actually (loosely) involved rather than just helping out her family, even if I did feel a little sympathy for her.

I'd LOVE to read more, and I really adore your writing.
Also, I have to say that this is the funnies rendering of The Joke I have read yet...*lol*
Chapter the last ....
Date: 2006-11-01 12:53 pm (UTC)I'm really going to miss this story. I've enjoyed it immensely. Didn't gues the Angelica the witch bit - I thought the obliviator was Montgomery Polyjuiced, which would make her an accessory anyway. Your way of doing it was much, much better.
Sequel, please, please!!!

Date: 2006-11-02 12:10 am (UTC)I have started to think vaguely about a sequel (which I hadn't planned to) but although I know who the killer would be and some things that would have to happen, that's a long way from a story. :(
