hpfanficidol is open for signups!

This is a Harry Potter fanfic competition based on the format of the Pop Idol (aka American Idol) show on TV. Authors submit a HP fic for consideration, a first cut of ten are selected from the fics submitted, and the ten then submit further fics to supplied prompts. In each round the judges pick authors who are 'safe' for the next round, and the readers vote on who will be eliminated out of the remainder, until it gets down to the final three -- whose placings are solely down to reader votes.

It's a HP-specific version of fanfictionidol, which had various problems, not least that as a multifandom challenge readers were quite likely to be confronted with a story in a setting they'd never even heard of. laverinth is organising this one, and I've signed up as a judge [muahahahahaha! Um, sorry, Simon Cowell moment there].

So if you fancy being the Idol of the HP community, and are willing to produce up to eleven fics if you're successful, details are here! You only need to write 400-2,000 words for the first few rounds, although the maximum word count will increase a bit for the later rounds to give the entrants more scope.
