Two lots of new canon information! Some of which is going to be ignored, some not. :)

The (possibly) final version of the Black Family Tree at the Leaky has a number of interesting and unlikely features, not least the fact that Blacks apparently marry young -- there are two precocious chaps there who apparently fathered children at the age of 13. Respect! But no, realistically speaking, on first report surely there has to be something off about aspects of this tree?

I do hope so, because a couple of things really threw spanners into the works.

First, Bellatrix was born in 1951 -- so finding a way to place her at school at the same time as Snape now becomes about as mathematically achievable as squaring the circle, and a thousand spreadsheets go down in flames.

Worse (from my point of view) is the aside about Ted Tonks being a Muggle, not a Muggle-born as in OotP. Huh? Here I'm going to go with the book as far as NTLJ is currently concerned (this many chapters in, I don't have much choice) and hope that either the note-taker read things wrong or that Blacks don't distinguish. But for the Sugar Quill version, since I'll be rewriting to an extent anyway (making Rufus Scrimgeour the Auror boss at the start, rather than my OC Claymore), I'll probably have someone else as the Gringotts contact and Ted's magical status carefully left ambiguous. :)

Since we now have actual names and some details about Sirius' parents, I'll be submitting a tweaked version of Toujours Pur . Hey, I'm picky about trying to keep things canon-compatible, even if they're not canon-plausible! Most of it still stands just fine, apart from the names and the paragraph or two giving Mrs Black's early history.

Secondly, the results of the FAQ Poll Secret-Keeper question -- "What happens to a secret when the Secret-Keeper dies?" This answer really surprised me -- it doesn't break the spell, the secret stays secret and known only to those previously told, so no-one else can learn it. Annoyingly, this knocks a (small) hole in the plot of my as-yet-unposted story You Tell Her. Damn. :D Oh well, better to find out shortly before posting than shortly after, I suppose!
