NTLJ chapter 26 at FictionAlley
Sep. 30th, 2005 07:32 pmChapter 26, The Mind’s Eye, of Nymphadora Tonks and the Liquor of Jacmel has been posted at FictionAlley. In which Tonks finally discovers what Kingsley wanted to tell her about the Sirius Black case, and learns a lot more than she bargained for.
Rather a long chapter, I'm afraid, but it's essentially a single extended scene, so cutting it in two wouldn't have worked very well. It mostly focuses on the Auror's view of the events of PoA, although it does contain a point or two related to the main plot. :)
I cut out some of the waffle from the Chamber of Secrets version, but unfortunately I also thought of one or two extra things that needed to be added (including another Quick Sidestep to avoid a gaping plot hole that had been there since the bloody prologue without my ever noticing it).
The new HBP stuff didn't have much effect, except that the confirmation that Bellatrix was the oldest Black sister meant that I could now return to my original plan for the mention of 12GP in the chapter. (I did the math after seeing a thread discussing the Black sisters' ages, so the CoS version had Andromeda as the oldest. Guess I should have known better than to do the math. :) )
