I just received a spammish email via pointing me to a German fanfic site (in English) called Inkitt, and inviting me to submit a fic (NTLJ as it happens) to some sort of contest they're running:

Anyone know anything about them? Is this legit or are we looking at the latest Fandom Kerfuffle? The site looks like it might be run on a commercial or at least semi-commercial basis, and I get suspicious about what agenda there might be with this sort of thing!

(Also -- blimey, it's been a long time since I posted anything here.)

Ha, I got the same message (except they said they'd just read Blood of the Unicorn). It looks like some kind of spammy/scammy way to produce fic-to-mainstream-success ala 50 Shades of Grey? I had ignored it totally until you posted about it. I think I will continue doing so. (Especially since I have a feeling that if I could file the serial numbers off of anything, Jane would be just about the last one I would be able to pick...)

I too received a similar message. Just like plaid_slytherin I had ignored it, and I decidedly won't change my mind on that now.

I had one too. I can stop worrying knowing you've had one - and had a similar response to me!

I've been out of the loop for a while, so I haven't heard about it. That being said, hello! Good to see you!

Yep, I got one too for ALMT. I tend to ignore that kind of thing anyway but I don't know any more than that. Nice to see you though! I've been mostly lurking for a while though so I'm one to talk! ;P
