... for coming up with a 50th anniversary episode that worked, one that managed to do homage to the history of Doctor Who without becoming bogged down in it, one that resolved old plotlines and then headed off in a new direction, one that managed to both work within the parameters set by the show's previous canon and also reconstruct them to produce something unexpected but fitting.

In short, thank you for producing a beautifully fannish piece of work.

It was pretty great, wasn't it? I started getting disappointed when I realised they were going to re-write history, but then they made it work! Yay! And yay for John Hurt! First the slash!dragon and now the war!Doctor!

I couldn't have said it better! There was just so many great things about it that I just might have to post a transcript to include them all!

It was brilliant, I loved it. So much fun to watch and a cameo from Peter Capaldi's scary, scary eyeballs. ;p

BTW - have you seen this?

If not, you absolutely must. :)

I really enjoyed it -- and I think both Smith and Tennant positively shone with the chance to play against each other and Hurt. Your description is so good -- beautifully fannish. A great meditation on the character of the Doctor and perfectly fitting for such a big anniversary.
